     Windstorm Ranch

                Keeping the Spirit Alive!

           Windstorm Owner's Story

Trophy Tack Supplier for the NBHA & CGA Clubs

De 'An & Beauty: My dad had one rule when it came to horses, "If you can't get on by yourself, you can't ride".

De 'An, Patches & my Mom:  "My first horse that wasn't a hand-me-down. Patches was very special, I rode him bareback, with a halter & lead rope. When I would check on the new born calves he saved me from more than one over-protective cow. Patches was with me for 10 months, then I lost him to Lockjaw".

Sally, my high school rodeo horse: "My dad paid $200. for her".

De 'An, Codie & Jessie, after 6 months of ground work: "Codie finally turned two & it was time to get on her, first ride".

Lynx Bell Star "Codie" was a  "Hollywood Gold" horse & was the best pole bending & team penning horse.

De 'An & Dakota: " I bought him at the sale barn in Ft. Worth for $1000.  Dakota had so much personality, he would literally pick up a beer and drink it, if left unattended. He also had a lot of go & no whoa!"

Utopia Horse Club

"First the Utopia Horse Club was formed to provide the kids in the Sabinal Canyon an opportunity to experience good  horsemanship, sportsmanship & leadership through education. To this end, the UHC sponsored the 4-H Horse Project, scholarships, seminars, clinics, play-days, trail-rides & other events. Our 2nd goal was to have a club for the kids that pulled grandpa's old roping horse out of the pasture to goat tie with. There's a lot of arena's & clubs that provide competition to kids that have a barrel horse, pole horse & a big rig, so the UHC was formed for the kids that didn't have that kind of opportunity".

De 'An Ray owner of Windstorm Ranch started riding in the Harrisburg Boots & Bridle Club at age 8, competing in all the speed events including the pick-up race and "any thing else we could dream up".

"As a girl growing up on a farm in mid- Missouri, I rode everyday because one of my chores was to find the milk cow, cut her out of the herd & bring her to the barn, laying the ground work for my love of Team Penning.  I grew up riding bareback & even competed that way for many years mainly because I didn't have a saddle, It sure taught me how to ride. I got my first saddle when I was 13, my pay for raking hay all summer".

"After I moved  to Dallas, I bought "Codie" a little cutting bred mare that I broke & trained.  Codie & I competed in barrels, pole bending, team penning and lots of trail- riding in Texas & Oklahoma. The Dallas/Ft. Worth area is the place to be if you're a barrel racer, because there is a race every night plus the Mesquite Rodeo, Will Rodgers Coliseum and of course, the old coliseum at North Side".

De'An, Martha Josey & Codie: "The first time I met Martha was at a  barrel race in Grand Prairie TX after talking to her for just a little bit, she ask me to take her horse back to her trailer & tie him up. I couldn't believe it!  Martha Josey just handed me her barrel horse".

De 'An & Codie at Martha Josey's, Karnack TX: "I took Codie for a week long clinic and I had the opportunity to ride with girls from all over the US. It was truly the experience of a lifetime".

"I sold "Codie" to a high school girl that competed in the Texas High School Rodeo Assoc. taking 3rd overall in Pole Bending".

" I was lucky enough to board with other barrel racers, same barn in Grand Prairie, TX for 12 years. We hauled together & competed in barrels, team penning and we never missed a trail-ride & camping with our ponies".

"If you are a Windstorm customer, chances are good that I've already talked with you simply because I handle the customer service myself. I treat my customers like friends and most of them are now, because I understand being in charge of ordering trophy items and what it takes to haul your kids, keep your horses in tip top shape & compete at your local play-day and at the pro level".

Testimonials

Hi De'An,

We absolutely love the trophy tack!! It is exactly what I wanted. We are going to have an early January awards ceremony for our Junior Rodeo kids, and I can't wait to hear the response on the awesome items you did for our club!!
Thank you so much for being so easy to work with. I will definitely be giving out your email to anyone who needs custom awards.  I am assuming the embroidered rope bags must take a little longer to do, they weren't included with this shipment. Anyhow, thank you again for the awesome job you did!! It has been so great to work with you. Thanks again, Joyce

Windstorm's success has been exceptional and is directly related to customer service.  Simply put, keeping customers informed and keeping your word goes a long way.  If you are an old customer, I really appreciate your continued business.  If your a new customer, I look forward to visiting with you and utilizing my rodeo experience to answer your questions & provide you with the best equipment available.

Thanks so much!
